
On the 30th July:
1977
A visit to Chew Valley Lake where there were 4 Green Sandpipers, 6 Common Sandpipers, 2 Sparrowhawks, a juvenile Little Ringed Plover, a Greenshank, a Curlew, 32 Snipe and 300+ Lapwings.

1983
A trip to Suffolk, starting in and around the Poplar Wood at Lakenheath where we saw 36 Whitethroats, 11 Blackcaps, 7 Willow Warblers, a Lesser Whitethroat, 6 Garden Warblers, 8 Golden Orioles and hearing 2 more, a Redpoll, 2 Treecreepers, 2 Great Spotted Woodpeckers, 7 Willow Tits, a Spotted Flycatcher, a Yellowhammer and 2 Cuckoos.
Later we went to Weeting seeing 3 Stone Curlews, 2 Redpolls, 3 Kestrels, a Sparrowhawk and a Hobby. At Santon Downham there was another Willow Tit, 8 Tree Pipits and a Whinchat, then at East Wretham we saw 2 Green Woodpeckers, another Tree Pipit, 3 Turtle Doves and 2 Stoats.
1985
A drive to the Mendips, where near Charterhouse there was a 2nd summer male Red-footed Falcon.
1986
On the Galapagos Islands, 2 new birds seen today.
