A visit to Chew Valley Lake where we saw 4 Whitethroats, 3 Garden Warblers, 4 Common Terns, a Tawny Owl, 2 Jays,
5 White Wagtails, 2 Blackcaps, 6 Yellow Wagtails, a Reed Warbler, a female Blue-headed Wagtail and a Common Toad.

1978
Overnight on Portland, in the morning we saw the male Black-headed Bunting and male Red-headed Bunting again, then went to Lodmoor, where we saw a Grasshopper Warbler, heard and saw several Reed and Sedge Warblers, also seeing 30 Little Terns, 3 Common Terns and a Cuckoo.
1979
Overnight at Cley, the morning was wet and grey, at Salthouse marsh there was a Bar-tailed Godwit, a Whimbrel, a Grey Plover, 10 Turnstones, a few Ringed Plovers and 2 Wheatears. At Cley the best were 6+ Yellow Wagtails, 10+ Sedge Warblers, 3 Avocets and c20 Dunlin. Then we drove to Wheeting where we eventually saw a Stone Curlew, also a Little Owl, 3 Green Woodpeckers, 6 Tree Sparrows, 2 Hobbys, 15+ Wheatears and a Cuckoo.
1983
A day trip to Portland where we did a seawatch between 8.30-10am, seeing all the usual seabirds plus 7 Manx Shearwaters, 6 Gannets, an Arctic Skua and 2 Pomarine Skuas. Around the bill there were lots of Skylarks, but few warblers, however we did see a Whinchat and 6 Corn Buntings. At Ferrybridge with the few waders and terns were 5 Sanderling, also 24 Wheatears and another Whinchat. At Radipole Lake there were a few warblers, mainly Reed and Cetti's, and, at Lodmoor we saw the 5 1st summer Mediterranean Gulls that we had seen last week, plus a Yellow Wagtail and a few more warblers.
In Tunisia, no new birds seen today.

On a filming and sound recording trip to the Ukraine for a series called 'Living Europe'.

A morning visit to Sand Point where around the car park there were 4 possibly 5 Spotted Flycatchers, 3 Chiffchaffs, 6 Blackcaps, a Garden Warbler, 6 Redpolls, 2 Bullfinches, 3 Whitethroats, a Lesser Whitethroat and 3 Whimbrel flying over.
