On the 4th December:
1983
A visit to Chew Valley Lake where was a mixed finch flock of over 200 birds, containing c60 Bramblings, also seen was a Kingfisher, 16 Goosanders, 2 Bewick's Swans, 2 Goldeneyes and lots of Pochard, Wigeon and Ruddy Ducks.
1988
In Kenya, on a BBC sound recording trip, 15 new birds, a new mammal and 2 new reptiles seen today.
