On the 24th September:
1976
An evening visit to Cheddar Reservoir to see a Whiskered Tern, a new bird for us, which was flying around the lake with 2 Black Terns at a range of about 200 yards.
1978
A visit to Chew Valley Lake where there was a Pectoral Sandpiper, we also saw 3 Spotted Redshank, a Greenshank, a Green Sandpiper and 3 Kingfishers.
1982
Leading a Wingspan tour to Turkey, no new birds seen today.
1983
Leading a Wingspan Tour to Western Turkey.
1984
An evening visit to Cheddar Reservoir where there were lots of duck and Coots, and, 4 immature Little Gulls.
1988
1998
On a filming and sound recording trip to Zimbabwe, 1 new bird seen today.
2000
A visit to Severn Beach seeing 2 Wheatears, c150 Turnstone, 6 Curlew Sandpipers, 20+ Dunlin, 16 Curlew, a Redshank and 4 Oystercatchers.
2002
A trip to Gigrin Farm in Mid Wales seeing c100 Red Kites which were mainly juveniles or immatures, 30+ Buzzards, c14 Ravens, c80 Crows and several Rooks.
