On the 5th October:
1975
Overnight near Weymouth, in the morning we spent a couple of hours at Moonfleet watching the Sociable Plover with the Lapwing flock again, before returning home.
1979
We started our day on Gugh seeing a Wheatear, 3 Firecrests, a Pied Flycatcher, a Whinchat and a Ring Ouzel. The rest of the day was spent on St. Agnes where the highlights were 2 Redstarts, 2 Whinchats, 2 Wheatears, seeing the American Golden Plover again, 2 Spotted Flycatchers, 2 Tree Pipits, 5 Pied Flycatchers, 3 Firecrests, 2 Turtle Doves, 250+ Turnstone, 50+ Sanderling, a Jack Snipe and a Yellow Wagtail.
1980
All day on St. Agnes seeing a Yellow Wagtail, 13 Firecrests, 6 Goldcrests, 6 Garden Warblers, 14 Stonechats, 4 Golden Plovers, 10 Sanderlings, a Bluethroat, 3 Whinchats, 2 Tree Pipits, a Spotted Flycatcher, a Red-breasted Flycatcher, a Turtle Dove, 3 Wheatears, 2 Redstarts, the 3 Lapland Buntings and the Yellow-billed Cuckoo was showing well again.

1986
A trip to Portland where we saw a Red-backed Shrike, a Merlin, 9 Wheatears and on the sea a summer plumage Black-necked Grebe. On the way home we called into Radipole Lake seeing an adult Mediterranean Gull.
2002
2013
A visit to Chew Valley Lake where there was a Temminck's Stint on the muddy island in Herriott's Pool, later saw a Whinchat behind Herons Green Pool.
After watching 2 Hummingbird Hawk Moths in the garden in Portishead, a drive to Blagdon Lake where there was a Glossy Ibis which the local Grey Heron had taken a dislike to, chasing it around for a while. Also seen was a Yellow-legged Gull, a later Wheatear and lots of duck.
2019
A visit to Chew Valley Lake seeing lots of duck, mainly Tufted Duck and Teal, lots of Coot, a Kingfisher, good numbers of Great Crested and Little Grebes, 9 Great White Egrets, 6 Little Egrets and 3 Cattle Egrets.
