On the 22nd August:
1976
A trip to Cheddar Reservoir where there was a Buff-breasted Sandpiper, 2 Wood Sandpipers, 15+ Common Sandpipers, a few Green Sandpipers, a Little Ringed Plover, several Ringed Plovers, 2 Black-tailed Godwits, lots of Greenshank, 5 Spotted Redshank, 3 Ruff, 4 Dunlin, a Little Stint and a Black Tern.
From there to Chew Valley Lake seeing about 17 Black Terns, 2 Wood Sandpipers, a Spotted Redshank, a Greenshank, a Kingfisher and a Turtle Dove.
2002
A day in Wales, driving to Rhayader and Gigrin Farm to see the Red Kites being fed, I saw 30+ kites which at this time of year were mainly juveniles.
Also, there were 12+ Buzzards, 14+ Ravens, c50 Crows and a Grey Heron.
From there I drove the 17 mile loop around the Elan Valley seeing a further 6 Red Kites, 3 Buzzards, 4 Ravens and a Yellow Wagtail.
