On the 17th March:

1979

A visit to Chew Valley Lake where the snow of the previous night still remained, but it was dry, sunny and not cold. We saw 32 Goosanders, 18 Goldeneyes, 31 Wigeon, 200+ Ruddy Ducks with a raft of 104 in Heron's Green Bay, 11 Shoveler, an adult Kittiwake, a Barn Owl, 2 Green Sandpipers, a female Smew, lots of Teal, a Stonechat, 4 Curlew, 7 Snipe and a Bittern.

On the way back to Bristol we saw a Little Owl at Chew Magna.

1986

In Pakistan, no new birds on our last day in Lal Suhanra NP.

2003

Today in Portishead, a garden tick, when a female Goshawk flew over the house.

2015

A drive south to Devon, where at Darts Farm in Topsham, in the reeds and bushes around the pools were 2 Penduline Tits, also seen were several Reed Buntings, a Chiffchaff and 2 Ravens.
