On the 22nd June:

1975

A visit to Black Rock at the top of Cheddar Gorge seeing a Willow Tit, 6 Jays, Yellowhammers, Spotted Flycatchers, Nuthatches, a Green Woodpecker, lots of warblers including Garden Warbler. Near Priddy there were 2 Corn Buntings, then a drive southeast to Shrewton on Salisbury Plain. In the area near the Bustard Hotel we saw 3 Stone Curlews hearing several more, also a Grey Partridge, a Fox and a Hare, then towards evening we heard 2 Tawny Owls and 2 Long-eared Owls, an adult and an immature.

1979

A morning visit to Leigh Woods where there was a male Hawfinch with 2 possibly 3 juveniles, a male and female Wood Warbler with another 2 heard, making 3 singing males, 2 pairs of Spotted Flycatchers and we found the nest of one of them, a Marsh Tit, a Green and a  Great Spotted Woodpecker and at least 2 Jays.

1980

A visit to Eckington Bridge in Worcestershire, seeing 2 pairs of Marsh Warblers.

1985

Leading a birdwatching holiday to Northern Spain.

1989

In Churchill, Manitoba on a sound recording trip for the BBC series 'Land of the Eagle'. 2 new birds seen today.
