
On the 1st November:
1975
A trip to Portland where we saw a Dartford Warbler, a Firecrest and on the sea c10 Eider.
1980
An early morning at Sand Point for a migration watch, with the highlights being 4 Bramblings, 22 Redpolls, 28 Siskins and lots of common finches, also seen was a Hen Harrier, and in the bay a Spotted Redshank.
Later, we drove to Peterstone Pill on the other side of the estuary, where there was a Spotted Sandpiper, also seeing c600 Dunlin, 2 Barnacle Geese, c400 Fieldfares and 2 late Swallows.

A visit to Severn Beach where on a walk alongside the estuary I saw 2 Stonechats, a Dartford Warbler and a Merlin.
