On the 3rd March:

1979

An afternoon visit to Chew Valley Lake on a wet, windy day, the best birds were a Peregrine and a Bittern.

1982

In Israel where I saw 13 new birds today.

1990

1991

A trip to the Exe Estuary and Dawlish Warren, where the best birds seen were Red-breasted Mergansers, a Red-crested Pochard, Avocets, Black-tailed Godwits, Whimbrels, a Guillemot, 4 Slavonian Grebes,  Common Scoters and a Velvet Scoter.

2005

A drive to the pool at Avonmouth Sewage Works to film the male Ring-necked Duck, which had relocated from Portbury Wharf, also there, were Tufted Ducks, Shoveler, Teal, Gadwall, Mallard and a Snipe, in the bushes by the pool there were 2 singing Chiffchaffs.
