1977

On holiday in Corsica, 1 new bird seen today.

1978

A very cold, snowy day at Chew Valley Lake where there were very few duck, but, an increase in waders with c200 Dunlin and 10,000+ Lapwing, also 27 White-fronted Geese and a Kittiwake.

1979

The morning at Loch Ryan seeing a pair of Peregrines, 100+ Eiders but not the King Eider, Red-breasted Mergansers, 5 Scaup, 4 Black-necked Grebes, 5 Slavonian Grebes, 3 Black Guillemots, 3 Red-throated Divers, 2 Velvet Scoters, 20+ Goldeneyes, a Long-tailed Duck, 7 Greylag Geese, a flock of 300+ Twite, a Merlin, 100+ Wigeon, 400+ Golden Plovers, c200 Lapwings, 150+ Turnstone, 50+ Redshank, 100+ Oystercatchers and c20 Ringed Plovers. Then a long drive home.

1986

On holiday in California, no new birds seen today.

1998

A Brambling in the garden in Portishead, one of two which have been visiting since the 13th.

2020

Moved from the flat at Elm Lodge to a bungalow on the 16th, view of Cam Peak from the patio and Buzzard in the near hedgerow.
