On the 26th May:

1975

Overnight at Cley, in the morning a brief look around the reserve, seeing lots of Ringed Plovers, 80 Dunlin, a Black Tern, 3 Little Gulls and 2 Yellow Wagtails. On the drive home we stopped at Aylmerton where we saw a Weasel, a Hare, a Kestrel and 3 Redpoll. At the pool at Saddle Bow Beat Factory there were 2 Bearded Tits and 2 Little Gulls. Our final stop was at Wisbech Sewage Farm where there were lots of gulls and a few ducks and waders, including a Black Tern and 6 Ruff.

1980

An afternoon visit to Chew Valley Lake where the best was a Common Tern, 500+ Swifts, 2 Goosanders, a Cuckoo, a Garden Warbler and a displaying pair of Long-tailed Ducks. Also seen was the Chew Stoke Little Owl.

1981

In Michigan, 4 new birds seen today.

1986

A trip to the Forest of Dean seeing 2 Wood Warblers and hearing several more, 4 Pied Flycatchers, 5 Spotted Flycatchers, a Great Spotted Woodpecker, a Treecreeper, a Nuthatch, a Garden Warbler, several Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers and a Peregrine.

1991

In the Russia Far East, 9 new birds seen today.

1996

On a birding holiday to Turkey. no new birds seen today.

1997

A trip to Shapwick on the north Somerset Levels, seeing 7 species of warblers including a Garden Warbler, a Marsh Harrier, 2 Kestrels, 2 Hobbys, lots of Grey Herons, a Little Egret, several duck species including a male Garganey, 8 Black-tailed Godwits, a Greenshank, 2 Redshanks, a Yellow Wagtail and lots of Red-eyed Damselflies.

2014

A visit to Shapwick where there were lots of warblers including 3 Garden Warblers, 4+ Great White Egrets, 5+ Little Egrets, 3 Marsh Harriers, 3+ Hobbys, 4+ Buzzards, a Cuckoo with 3 more heard, 3 Bitterns with another 2 heard, 52 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Redshanks and 2 Kingfishers.
