On the 7th June:

1975

A drive north to Nafford Island on the River Avon near Eckington, Worcestershire, to see Marsh Warbler, a new bird for us, after a bit of searching we found 2 birds which we watched for almost 2 hours. They showed from time to time to sing from the tops of Bargeman's Cabbage, Hemlock and nettles. Also in the area were at least 4 Reed Buntings, a Corn Bunting, 2 Sedge Warblers, a Kingfisher, a Water Vole and a Wood Mouse, a new mammal for us.

We returned via the Forest of Dean visiting Nags Head, where there was a Grass Snake, a Spotted Flycatcher, 3 Tree Pipits with another 2 heard, 7 Pied Flycatchers, a Redstart and we only heard a Wood Warbler. After returning to Bristol we decided on an evening visit to Stock Hill where we saw 2 Nightjars and heard another two.
