On the 1st October:

1977

A visit to Cheddar Reservoir where there was a Wood Sandpiper, c20 Ringed Plovers, c15 Dunlin, a Grey Plover, a Greenshank and a Black Tern.

Then to Chew Valley Lake seeing lots of duck, several Snipe, a Long-billed Dowitcher, 6 Dunlin, 5 Spotted Redshank, a Grey Plover, 10 Golden Plovers, c25 Ringed Plovers, a Ruff, 2 Greenshank, a Jack Snipe, 2 Common and 4 Green Sandpipers, c10 Black, an Arctic and 4 Common Terns, a Chilean Flamingo, 3 Yellow Wagtails and a Barn Owl.

1978

A trip to Steart in time for the high tide, seeing 20 Black-tailed Godwits, 3 Greenshank, 12 Spotted Redshank, 350+ Redshank, 300+ Curlew, 2 Knot, 2 Grey Plovers, c200 Dunlin, 4 Sanderling, an Avocet, 800+ Oystercatchers and 2 Wheatears.

Then to Cheddar Reservoir where there was a Grey Phalarope.

Finally we went to Chew Valley Lake, where there was another Grey Phalarope, a Common and a Green Sandpiper, a Wood Sandpiper, 4 Spotted Redshank, 3 Greenshank, a Ruff, 12 Snipe and 2 Red-crested Pochard

1979

The day spent birding on St. Agnes, with the highlights being 10 Redstarts, 15+ Stonechats, 36 Sanderling, the American Golden Plover, 15 Firecrests, 4 Turtle Doves, 4 Pied Flycatchers, 12 Gannets, 4 Whinchats, 2 Tree Pipits, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 3 Wheatears and a Wryneck.

2000

A visit to Severn Beach and New Passage seeing c300 Dunlin, 2 Curlew Sandpipers, c60 Turnstones, a Knot, a Common Sandpiper, c50 Curlew, c20 Oystercatchers, 10+ Redshank, a Greenshank, a few duck, 3 Wheatears, 2 Peregrines, 4 Buzzards and a Redpoll.
