
On the 9th November:
1980
A trip to the Weymouth area, starting at Radipole Lake where there was an immature Ring-billed Gull. At Ferrybridge there were 4 Red-breasted Mergansers, then at Portland Bill we saw 6 Eiders, 4 Brent Geese, c46 Common Scoters, an adult Mediterranean Gull, an adult Little Gull and near the observatory an escaped Blue-crowned Conure.
1987
In Ontario, mainly on holiday, with a couple days recording for the BBC. 1 new bird and 1 new mammal seen today.

In Madagascar on a BBC sound recording trip, 6 new birds and a new mammal seen today.

1990
A two day stay in North Cornwall to collect recordings for a BBC Wildlife on One film on Peregrines, today recording around Tintagel, mainly coastal atmospheres, also seeing a Grey Seal and a Puffin. Later, a drive to Davidstow Moor to record the 1,000's of Starlings coming into roost in the pine plantations.
In Hong Kong, 8 new birds and a new mammal seen today.

A visit to Portbury Wharf seeing lots of common birds, also a Little Owl, 4 Stonechats, 2 Water Pipits and a Fox.
