On the 30th October:

1976

A drive to North Norfolk, arriving at Wells Woods in the afternoon, where in the trees near the car park we saw a Pallas's Warbler, a new bird for us. Also seen were 100+ Goldcrests, 4 Siskins, a Redpoll, 3 Blackcaps, a Kingfisher and 2 Woodcock.

1982

An overnight drive from Bristol to Hull on the way seeing a Fox, a Barn Owl and a Woodcock.

We continued to Easington where we saw an immature Great Spotted Cuckoo, a new bird for us.

Also seen were c200 Brent Geese, 50+ Redshank, 5 Grey Plover, lots of Dunlin, a female Hen Harrier, 16 Tree Sparrows, a Woodcock, a Blackcap and a Brambling.

Later, we went to Humberston where there were lots of waders and 2 Twite.

1987

In North Carolina on a BBC sound recording trip, no new birds seen today.

1988

In Kenya on a BBC sound recording trip, no new species seen today.

2003

A wet and windy morning on St. Mary's only seeing a Little Egret and 2 Greenshank of note, before getting the helicopter back to Penzance.

2004

A drive to Clevedon, to Wain's Hill churchyard, where there was a Yellow-browed Warbler, also seen was a Chiffchaff, lots of finches flying over, c20 Long-tailed Tits and at least 4 Jays.

2016

A drive to Slimbridge village where in a field by the A38 there were 6 Cattle Egrets feeding by the cattle.
