2003

A walk from Channel View Farm to the River Yeo seeing lots of waders, Shelducks, gulls, 3 Little Egrets, 2 Stonechats and 2 Short-eared Owls.

2005

A fast drive to Channel View Farm, south of Clevedon, where along the track to the estuary there was an Upland Sandpiper, a new British bird for me. The first of this species to be found on mainland Britain, there were only a small group of local birdwatchers when I arrived, but, during the day many more arrived and over the next few days hundreds came to see it.

2011

A visit to Blagdon Lake seeing lots of ducks, Coot, grebes, Cormorants, Canada Geese, Mute Swans and gulls, highlights were a Slavonian Grebe, a Bewick's Swan, a Long-tailed Duck and a male Red-crested Pochard.

2020

On the way to New Passage, near Aust Services, a Merlin flew across the road in front of me, giving great close views. At New Passage along the seawall towards Severn Beach, there were 2 very tame Snow Buntings. Also seen was a Little Egret, 40+ Wigeon, 8+ Redshank and a few Turnstones.
