1979
Another visit to Chew Valley Lake, this time mainly to the north and east shores, where of note were 4 Green Sandpipers, 3 Long-tailed Ducks, 15 Goldeneyes, 9 Goosanders, a Slavonian Grebe, 193 Great Crested Grebes and lots of Ruddy Ducks.
1984
A day at Chew Valley Lake where there were high numbers of ducks including a 'redhead' Smew, also 3 Water Rails, lots of Lapwings, 180 Golden Plovers, 6 Snipe, 15 Dunlin and 2 Little Stints.
1987
In Ontario, mainly on holiday, with a couple days recording for the BBC. 1 new bird seen today.

In Madagascar on a BBC sound recording trip, no new birds seen today.
A very windy day, at Severn Beach there were 27 Kittiwakes and 1 possibly 2 Leach's Petrels.
2012
A visit to Severn Beach where feeding among the detritus at the top of the beach were 5 Snow Buntings.
