On the 13th December:
1980
A visit to Chew Valley Lake where we saw a Shag, 14 Goldeneyes, 2 Ruff, 85 Dunlin, 5 Golden Plovers, lots of Wigeon and Ruddy Ducks, 37 Goosanders, 2 Bewick's Swans and a Barnacle Goose.
1993
In Australia on a sound recording trip, 10 new birds and 5 new mammals seen today.

After all the recent strong winds, 2 immature Shags were found at Clevedon boating pools, a local rarity.
