In Madagascar on a BBC sound recording trip, 1 new mammal seen today.

1989
At WWT reserve at Caerlaverock to record Whooper Swans, saw c90 swans, c8,000 Barnacle Geese, a Brent Goose, a Goosander and lots of other ducks, also large flock of Lapwing and Golden Plovers.
1993

2005
Another visit to the track from Channel View Farm to the estuary, where the Upland Sandpiper was still on show, it was in a field with cows nearer the farm, only viewable at more of a distance and over a hedge. On the mud-flats was a Pale-bellied Brent Goose which is rare in this area, feeding exclusively on sea lettuce. There were also good numbers of waders and along the brambles were 2 Stonechats.
