On the 17th November:

In Madagascar on a BBC sound recording trip, 1 new mammal seen today.

Milne-Edward's Sifaka.

At WWT reserve at Caerlaverock to record Whooper Swans, saw c90 swans, c8,000 Barnacle Geese, a Brent Goose, a Goosander and lots of other ducks, also large flock of Lapwing and Golden Plovers.

In New Zealand on a BBC sound recording trip, 4 new birds seen today.

Shy Albatross.

Another visit to the track from Channel View Farm to the estuary, where the Upland Sandpiper was still on show, it was in a field with cows nearer the farm, only viewable at more of a distance and over a hedge. On the mud-flats was a Pale-bellied Brent Goose which is rare in this area, feeding exclusively on sea lettuce. There were also good numbers of waders and along the brambles were 2 Stonechats.
