On the 19th December:
1981
A trip to the Exe Estuary where on a walk alongside the estuary from Powderham the highlights were 2 Greenshank, a Scaup, 17 Avocets, c40 Red-breasted Mergansers, a Goosander, c10 Slavonian Grebes, c35 Bar-tailed Godwits, c500 Black-tailed Godwits, 50+ Grey Plovers and c1000 Brent Geese.
1986
On holiday in California, no new birds seen today.
1993
In Australia on a sound recording trip, 3 new birds seen today.

2004
A visit to New Passage, where from the village road I filmed Redwings, Fieldfares and Blackbirds feeding on berries in a line of Hawthorn Trees.
2010
A large flock of mixed gulls including an adult Mediterranean Gull, circling over the garden in Portished and coming into a neighbours garden.
