On the 2nd April:

1980

An evening visit to Chew Valley Lake where the best was a Green Sandpiper, a Redshank, a Curlew and 2 Little Gulls, an adult and 1st summer.

1985

In Israel, one new bird today.

 

1991

In Belize, 12 new birds, 1 new reptile and 1 new amphibian seen today.

1996

An evening visit to Chew Valley Lake to see the Little Bunting again, getting excellent close views, there were also Sand Martins and Swallows, and a Chilean Flamingo.

2017

A brief mid afternoon visit to Northwick Warth where there were 50+ Turnstone, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 2 White Wagtails and 4 Little Egrets.

2021

At home at Elm Lodge where there was a Brown Rat feeding under the feeders, the first I have seen here. Also a Stock Dove, 2 Goldfinches and a male Green Woodpecker feeding on the grass, then flew up to the tree.
