On the 1st April:

1979

A visit to Chew Valley Lake where, of note, were 60 Ruddy Ducks, 11 Goosander, 3 Goldeneye, 4 Pintail, a female Smew, a Green Sandpiper and a sub-adult Little Gull. At Blagdon Lake there were 2 Red-necked Grebes and 4 Goldeneye.

1985

In Israel, one new bird today.

 

1991

In Belize, 5 new birds, 1 new mammal and a new reptile seen today.

2006

A visit to Aust Warth where on the high tide there were several Redshank, Curlew and Turnstone on the dry parts of the marsh, on the water were Wigeon, Teal and Gadwall, lots of Skylarks and Meadow Pipits flying around and a Short-eared Owl.

2012

A visit to Chew Valley Lake where apart from the usual birds, I saw the long staying Spotted Sandpiper.

2014

A trip to Slimbridge where there were lots of Chiffchaffs and singles of 4 other species of warbler. Also, lots of Shelducks and Black-headed Gulls, a few Wigeon and Teal, 8 Avocets, a Redshank, a Little Egret, a pair of Kingfishers, and on the 'Dumbles' 4 Common Cranes, 2 Taiga Bean Geese, a Hooded Crow and a family of 4 Roe Deers.
