In Kenya, on a BBC sound recording trip, 10 new birds, a new mammal and a new reptile seen today.

1994

A drive to Torpoint in southeast Cornwall to see a female Desert Wheatear, which was a new British bird for me. Seen at the top of the beach, a very active, approachable bird. On the way back I stopped at several places along the River Lynher, with the highlights being

8 Spotted Redshanks, lots of Golden Plover, 2 Sanderling, 5 Little Egrets, a Spoonbill and a 1st winter Iceland Gull.

2014

A drive into Bristol, to Bishopston where in and around the gardens I saw the adult Rose-coloured Starling again.
