On the 25th July:

1976

A visit to Frampton Lakes where we saw a Fox, 3 Common Shrews, 5 Spotted Flycatchers, several warbler species including a Lesser Whitethroat, a Treecreeper, 2 Marsh Tits, a Greenshank, 8 Green Sandpipers, 7 Spotted Redshanks, a Ruff, 2 Kingfishers, the 2nd summer Little Gull again, several Turtle Doves and found a Hoopoe at the back of Court Lake.

1982

A trip south to the Weymouth area, firstly to Radipole Lake to see the Squacco Heron again, also seeing a Kingfisher, Reed and Sedge Warblers, 4 Cetti's Warblers, 2 Bearded Tits, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 3 Dunlin, 4 Common Sandpipers, a Redshank, 2 Garganey and 2 adult Little Gulls.

Lodmoor and Ferrybridge were quiet, on Portland we saw 16 Gannets, 6 Kittiwakes, 4 Fulmars, a Guillemot, a Puffin and 2 Corn Buntings. Returning to Radipole Lake we saw much the same, but now there were 4 Garganey.

1986

On the Galapagos Islands, 21 new birds and 2 new reptiles seen today.

A visit to Northwick Warth where there were 2 Wood Sandpipers, a Common Sandpiper, 4 Black-tailed Godwits, other waders and lots of Swallows and martins.
