On the 22nd March:

1981

On a walk in Leigh Woods we saw 6+ Nuthatches, heard Goldcrests and Marsh Tits, then we saw a long winged buzzard flying over the woods being mobbed by Jackdaws, it's head and neck conspicious, it's underwing pale with dark boarder and carple area, it flew with shallow wingbeats and short glides on level wings, we only saw it for maybe 30 seconds as it flew across the gorge and over Clifton, a possible Honey Buzzard.

2003

A visit to Portbury Wharf, where the best birds seen were 10 Chiffchaffs, 4 Bullfinches, the male Ring-necked Duck, pair of Gadwall, 60+ Shelducks, 14 Curlew, 50+ Redshank, around 100 Teal, 5 Snipe and 30+ Wigeon.

2018

An afternoon visit to Aust Warth where there were 3 Short-eared Owls, at one time all in the air together, one bird was much darker, browner than the other two and mainly keep a good distance away from the paler birds.

Later, a Barn Owl was flying around over the saltmarsh, but for me was always quite distant. Also seen were 2 Kestrels and a Raven.
