On the 25th April:

1976

Overnight in Weymouth, in the morning we returned to Portland seeing 3 Corn Buntings, 5 Chiffchaffs, 2 Blackcaps and the Wryneck again. On the sea the usual seabirds plus a Puffin, an Eider, c40 Common Scoter and a Manx Shearwater.

Later, we went to Radipole Lake where the best was a Common Tern and a Hobby, from there to the Verne where there were 2 Redstarts, then back to the bill for a sea watch seeing a Manx Shearwater, a Whimbrel, 8 Fulmars, 3 Gannets and on the rocks

23 Purple Sandpipers.

1981

A visit to Chew Valley Lake where the best birds were 8 Common Sandpipers, 5 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Cuckoos, 2 Lesser Whitethroats, a Grasshopper Warbler and 4 Scaup.

1984

Leading a Wingspan/Ibis Bird Tour to Spain.

1985

In Tunisia, no new birds seen today.

1988

In Florida on a sound recording trip, no new birds, but a new reptile seen today.

2004

Still in Looe, back filming the Little Egrets, this time feeding in the river, also see here. Other birds seen were much the same as yesterday, and watched Cormorants fishing underwater, also see here

2015

A visit to Northwick Warth where there were lots of Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps, in the reedbed several Reed Warblers, on the mud 20 Dunlin and 15 Ringed Plovers, on and over the marsh a few Swallows and Sand Martins, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 2 Wheatears, a Whinchat and a male Ring Ouzel.
