On the 6th October:

1979

A repeat of yesterday, starting on Gugh, where we saw 2 Wheatears, a Whinchat, a Red Kite, 3 Firecrests, 2 Spotted Flycatchers, a Redstart and 4 Yellow Wagtails. Back on St. Agnes we saw the Red Kite again, 2 Wheatears, a Yellow Wagtail, 3 Turtle Doves, a Merlin, 2 Pied Flycatchers, 2 Spotted Flycatchers, a Whinchat, a Redstart and we found a Melodious Warbler.

1980

All day on St. Agnes seeing 5 Firecrests, 2 Spotted Flycatchers, 2 Red-breasted Flycatchers and the Yellow-billed Cuckoo again. At low tide we walked across to Gugh where we watched an Isabelline or Daurian Shrike as it caught insects and made several attempts at catching a Stonechat, a new bird for us, as the former races of Red-backed Shrike have now been split, twice.
