On the 26th July:

1980

A day at Chew Valley Lake where there were 67 Black Terns, a Curlew Sandpiper, 17 Green Sandpipers, 9 Common Sandpipers, 2 Dunlin, a Ringed Plover, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, a Ruff, a Greenshank, 3 Snipe, 2 Kingfishers, a female Ring-necked Duck, a female Garganey and a Grasshopper Warbler singing at Herriott's Pool.

1981

Another visit to Steart where there were 2 flamingoes, a Greater and a Chilean. Also, 10 Black-tailed Godwits, a Bar-tailed Godwit, a Peregrine, 2 Yellow Wagtails, 13 Sanderling, 9 Knot, 4 Greenshanks and lots of other waders.

1986

On the Galapagos Islands, 4 new birds and a new reptiles seen today.

A day spent at Slimbridge where there were 2 Spoonbills, a Ruff, 2 Dunlin, 80+ Redshank, 40+ Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Common Terns, a Wood Sandpiper, 12 Green Sandpipers, a Little Ringed Plover, 6 Avocets and the usual ducks.
