On the 27th July:
1975
A visit to Chew Valley Lake where the best were 2 Greenshanks, 16 Common Sandpipers, a Ruff, 4 Green Sandpipers, 2 Ruddy Ducks, a Kingfisher, a raft of around 130 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Yellow Wagtails, a Grey Wagtail, a Barn Owl and a Little Owl.
1980
The day started back at Chew Valley Lake seeing much the same as yesterday, except only one Little Ringed Plover and only 4 Black Terns. From there a drive to Stock Hill on the Mendips where we saw a Willow Tit, then across the road at Priddy Pools we saw a Grasshopper Warbler and heard another.
1986
On the Galapagos Islands, a new mammal seen today.

2017
A visit to Slimbridge where there was an adult Pectoral Sandpiper, which was seen well but kept disappearing for long periods. Also seen were 30+ Dunlin, a Little Stint, a Greenshank, 10+ Redshanks, Avocets, c20 Black-tailed Godwits, 7 Ruff, at least 12 Green Sandpipers, a Kingfisher, 8 Cranes, lots of Lapwings and Sand Martins.
